Summer Lunch Program

Welcome to Backwoods Breakaway O'Leary's summer lunch program's webpage! We are thrilled to be a part of the Provincial Summer Lunch Program and excited to provide delicious lunches for the children. Here, you will find all the necessary information about our menu and reheating instructions. Stay tuned for updates.

Week #1 Lunches

Meal one: Pulled Pork Sandwich

ingredients: shredded pork, peppers, onions, bbq sauce, bun.

To reheat. Remove bun and toast or defrost in microwave. To reheat pork, place pork inside bag for 1 minute intervals until hot. Place pork on bun and enjoy! 
 

Meal two: Sausage Penne

For best reheating results, defrost meal in fridge prior to reheating Reheat in microwave 2 minutes at a time stirring in between. 
 

Meal three: Ham and cheese sub

Defrost sub in fridge and can be eaten cold. To kick it up a knotch, reheat in oven, air fryer or pan fry like a pannini! 
 

Meal 4: English Muffin Pizzas

For best results, these can be thrown in the air fryer from frozen for 6-8 minutes. Also may be cooked in the microwave for 1.5-2 minutes.

Meal 5: Sweet and Sour Pork Stirfry

For best reheating results, defrost meal prior to reheating. Reheat in microwave 2 minutes at a time stirring in between until hot. 
 

Meal 6: Beef Chili 

Can be heated from frozen. Place in microwave and cook on defrost for 3 - 4 minutes then switch to full power for 3-4 minutes or until hot.

Meal 7: Mini pancakes and sausage

Reheat in microwave 1 - 2 minutes at a time until hot throughout.

Week #2

Meal Reheating Instructions

Meal 1: Burrito Bowl

For the best results, defrost before reheating. Heat in the microwave for 2 minutes at a time, stirring in between until hot.

Meal 2: Spaghetti & Meat Sauce

Defrost in the fridge prior to reheating. Microwave for 2 minutes at a time, stirring in between until hot.

​

Meal 3: Turkey & Swiss Sub

Defrost in the fridge and enjoy cold, or elevate the taste by reheating in the oven, air fryer, or pan-frying like a panini!

​

Meal 4: English Muffin Pizzas

For optimal results, cook in the air fryer from frozen for 6-8 minutes, or microwave for 1.5-2 minutes.

Meal 5: Teriyaki Pork Stir Fry

Defrost before reheating. Microwave for 2 minutes at a time, stirring in between until hot.

​

Meal 6: Chicken Soup

Can be heated from frozen. Microwave on defrost for 3-4 minutes, then on full power for 3-4 minutes or until hot.

​

Meal 7: Mini Pancakes and Bacon

Microwave for 1-2 minutes at a time until hot throughout.
